Screens

Which screen suits your shop window?

For a shop window, you choose a shop window display that is bright enough for sunlight behind glass. There are also double-sided screens, indoor screens and floor-standing screens, in portrait or landscape. An installation partner from your region advises the screen that suits your window and mounts it.

Portrait or landscape

A screen can hang in portrait or landscape. A landscape screen fills a wide window. A portrait screen looks like a poster: it fits a narrow window, next to the door or between two windows.

The design follows the orientation of the screen. We make it in your house style, with your logo and colours, for the orientation your partner advises.

Which size

A screen for a shop window comes in many sizes, from a small screen next to the door to a large screen that fills a window. The right size depends on the size of your window and the distance to the street. Someone looking from the other side of the street needs a larger image than someone standing right in front of the window.

The partner measures your window and advises a size. If you have more than one window, each window can have a screen of its own.

Sun behind glass

In a shop window, the sun often shines on the glass during the day. An ordinary indoor screen is not bright enough for that: the image fades and the price can no longer be read from the street. A shop window display is made for that spot: bright enough for sunlight behind glass. It is also an advertising screen, a form of digital signage: it shows what you offer to people walking past.

On the first visit, the partner looks at where the light comes from and how close to the glass the screen can hang. In an office or waiting area, there is usually no sun on the screen. An indoor screen is enough there.

How the screen is mounted

A shop window display usually hangs just behind the glass, on the wall. If nothing can hang there, for example at a window that goes down to the floor or in a sales pavilion, the screen stands on a base. A double-sided screen hangs so that one side faces outwards and the other inwards.

The screen needs a socket nearby. The partner checks where it is and how to keep the cables out of sight.

Advice, delivery and installation

You do not have to choose a screen yourself. An installation partner from your region visits you, advises the screen, supplies it and mounts it. The price of the screen and its installation is in your proposal, on a quote from that partner. Why that price differs from one shop window to another is explained on the pricing page.

We take care of what appears on the screen, for €39 per screen per month, on an annual contract. For an estate agency, that means your properties, straight from your agency software. Read more about a shop window display for estate agents or about a screen for new developments.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can we use our own screen?

Your installation partner checks whether your screen is suitable. In a shop window, it must be bright enough for sunlight behind glass. If it is not suitable, the partner advises a screen that is.

How does the screen stay easy to read when the sun shines on the window?

A shop window display is bright enough for sunlight behind glass. On the first visit, your partner checks where the sun falls on your window and chooses the screen accordingly.

Is a socket needed in the shop window?

The screen needs power. On the first visit, your installation partner checks where there is a socket and how to keep the cable out of sight. Whatever that requires is in the quote.

LED or LCD: which screen for a shop window?

A shop window display is usually an LCD screen with extra brightness. LED panels are used for large walls and for outdoor screens; our partners supply those. Your installation partner advises what suits your shop window.

How long does a screen last?

A professional screen is made for daily use. How long it lasts depends on the device and on how many hours a day it is on. Your installation partner gives you the specifications of the screen.

Does a shop window display need 4K?

4K gives a sharper image up close. At the distance of a shop window, the difference is usually small. Your installation partner advises on the resolution together with the size and the viewing distance.
